어떤 처지에서도 만족하는 법。

 

( 빌립보서 4: 10 ~ 13 )

 

 

‘나의 인생에 닥치는 고난을 어떻게 받아들일 것인가?’ 여기에 따라 우리 인생이 달라집니다.  아무리 어려운 질문에도 대답할 수 있는 현자가 있었습니다. 어느 날 한 소년과 소녀가 현자를 골려주기로 마음먹었습니다. 소년이 참새를 잡아 손바닥에 숨긴 채 가져왔습니다.

그리고 현자에게 이렇게 질문했습니다. “내 손 안에 있는 새가 죽었을까요, 살았을까요?”

 

만약 현명하다는 저 어른이 죽었다고 말하면 새가 날아가도록 놓아주고, 만약 살았다고 대답하면 내가 손바닥으로 눌러서 죽여야지. 소년은 그렇게 생각했습니다. 빙그레 웃으며 질문하고 있는 두 아이에게, 현자는 이렇게 대답했습니다. “그건 네 손에 달렸지~.”

 

인생의 고난에 대하여 깊이 성찰했던 레이는 이런 글을 남겼습니다.

     『절름받이가 되게 하라. 윌터 경이 나올 것이다.

      감옥에 넣어 보라. 존 번연이 나올 것이다.

      포탄이 떨어지는 골짜기에 놓아두라. 조지 워싱턴이 나올 것이다.

      극도로 가난하게 만들어 보라. 링컨이 나올 것이다.

      소아마비로 쓰러뜨려 보라. 루즈벨트가 나올 것이다.

      귀머거리가 되게 하라. 베토벤이 나올 것이다.

      그리고 멍청한 아이를 놀려 보라. 아인슈타인이 나올 것이다. 』

 

☎ 나에게 닥친 고난을 내가 어떻게 해석하고 대응하느냐에 따라 위대해질 수도 있고, 초라해질 수도 있다는 뜻입니다. 하나님은 형편에 따라 변하는 신앙을 갖지 말고, 어떤 형편에 처하든지 늘 감사하는 사람이 되라고 하십니다. 하나님께서는 바울을 통해서 우리에게 만족하는 법을 말씀하십니다.

 

 

1. 만족하는 마음은 타고난 성품이 아니라  (            )는 것이다.

 

2. 만족은 외부로부터 오는 것이 아니라, 주체적으로 누리는 것이다.

 

3. 만족할 수 있는 이유는  (              ) 있기 때문이다.

How to be content in any situation。

 

( Philippians 4: 10 ~ 13 )

 

 

 

"How will I accept the hardships that come my way?" This question determines our lives. There once was a wise man who could answer even the most difficult questions. One day, a boy and a girl decided to prank the wise man. The boy caught a sparrow and brought it to him, hiding it in his palm. Then they asked the wise man,

"Is the bird in my hand dead or alive?"

 

If that wise man says it's dead, I'll let the bird fly away. If it says it's alive, I'll crush it with my palm and kill it. "That's up to you," the boy thought. To the two children, who were grinning and asking questions, the wise man replied, "That's up to you."

 

 

Ray, who deeply reflected on the hardships of life, wrote:

  "Make him lame, and you'll get a Sir Walter.

   Put him in jail, and you'll get a John Bunyan.

   Place him in a valley where shells fall, and you'll get a George Washington.

   Make him desperately poor, and you'll get a Lincoln.

   Kill him with polio, and you'll get a Roosevelt.

   Make him deaf, and you'll get a Beethoven.

   And tease a dumb child, and you'll get an Einstein."

 

☎ This means that depending on how I interpret and respond to the hardships that befall me, I can become either great or humble. God tells us not to have a faith that changes with our circumstances, but to be people who are always thankful, no matter what the circumstances.

 

☞ Through Paul, God tells us how to be content.

 

 

1. Contentment is not an innate trait, but something we (           ).

 

2. Contentment does not come from outside sources;

    it is something we experience on our own.

 

3. The reason we can be content is because it (          ) in the Lord.

하나님의 인물평가 기준

 

( 누가복음 5: 1 ~ 11 )

 

 

사람들로부터 ‘성공한 사람’이라고 평가받는 사람들이 있습니다. 그런가하면 그 당대에는 성공했다고 평가받지 못했으나 후대에 와서 높이 평가받는 사람들도 있습니다. 이러한 평가들도 중요하지만, ‘하나님으로부터 어떻게 평가받느냐?’하는 것만큼 중요한 것은 없을 것입니다. 왜냐하면 하나님께서는 그 사람의 드러난 업적을 보시지 않고, 그 사람의 중심을 보시기 때문입니다. 하나님으로부터 좋은 평가를 받았던 사람들을 통해서 우리는 배우고, 나의 것으로 삼는다면, 우리의 남은 인생이 더욱 아름답고 보람될 것입니다.

 

기독교에서 말하는 성공적인 삶이란, 4가지 M이 반드시 포함되어야 합니다.

첫째, Master(주인)입니다. 인생은 말과 같아서 내 등 위에 누구를 모시고 달리느냐에 따라 목적지가 결정됩니다. 예수님을 모신 사람은 천국으로 향하고, 마지막에 웃을 수 있습니다.

둘째, Mission(사명)입니다. 공부를 잘 하는 것보다, 분명한 목적을 정하는 것이 더욱 중요합니다. 사명이란 생명을 걸고라도 반드시 해야 하는 나의 임무입니다. 내가 존재하는 이유이고 목적입니다. 예수님을 만났던 사람들은 각 자 자신의 사명을 발견했습니다.

 

셋째, Mentor(멘토. 스승)입니다. 그리스 신화에 오디세우스(Odysseus)가 아들의 교육을 맡겼던 사람이 멘토입니다. 좋은 조언자요, 친구를 뜻합니다. 신앙 성장에도 반드시 이러한 멘토가 필요합니다.

넷째, Mate(동역자)입니다. 죽음의 순간에도 함께 할 수 있는 동역자가 있을 때, 그는 후회없는 생을 살았다고 할 수 있습니다.

 

☎ 오늘 본문에는 예수님께서 선발하신 네 사람이 소개됩니다.

    주님은 제자들을 선택하실 때, 어떤 기준으로 선택하시는가를 우리에게 말씀하십니다.

 

 

1. 말씀에 의지하여 순종하는가?

 

2. 나 자신이 죄인임을 고백하는가?

 

3. 사명을 위해서는 어떤 희생도 감수하는가?

God's Standard for Character Evaluation

 

( Luke 5: 1 ~ 11 )

 

 

Some people are judged by others as "successful." Others, though not considered successful in their time, are later highly regarded. While these evaluations are important, nothing is more crucial than how God evaluates them. This is because God does not look at a person's apparent accomplishments, but rather at their heart.

 

If we learn from those who have received good reviews from God and make them our own, the rest of our lives will be more beautiful and rewarding.

 

In Christianity, a successful life must include the four M's.

 

First, Master. Life is like a horse; your destination is determined by who you look up to on your back. Those who follow Jesus will head to heaven and have the last laugh.

 

Second, Mission. Having a clear purpose is more important than excelling in your studies. A mission is a duty you must fulfill, even at the risk of your life. It is the reason and purpose of your existence. Everyone Jesus met discovered their own mission.

 

Third, Mentor. In Greek mythology, the leader to whom Odysseus entrusted the education of his son was a mentor. It signifies a good advisor and friend. Such mentors are essential for spiritual growth.

 

Fourth, Mate. When a person has a companion who can stand by them even at the moment of death, they can be said to have lived a life without regrets.

 

 

☎ Today's text introduces the four people chosen by Jesus.

     The Lord tells us what criteria He uses when choosing His disciples.

 

 

1. Do I rely on and obey the Word?

 

 

2. Do I confess that I am a sinner?

 

 

3. Am I willing to make any sacrifice for the sake of

     my mission?
