고독한 사람의 구원。 |
( 마가복음 5: 24 ~ 34 )
나에게 몹쓸 병이 생겨서 친구도 떠나고, 회사도 떠나고, 가족마저 떠난 사람은 슬픈 정도가 아니라 고독합니다. 살아갈 이유도, 삶의 희망도 사라지고 맙니다. 이토록 고독했던 사람이 오늘 본문에 나옵니다. 하나님 앞에 나아가 하나님의 은혜라도 받았으면 좋으련만, 회중들이 모인 곳에는 갈 수 없는 몹쓸 병이라 그렇게 하지도 못합니다. 위로해줄 사람이 없습니다.
▶ 이 사람은 어떻게 해야 할까요?
그런데 이 사람은 삶을 포기하지 않았습니다. 노숙자가 되어 동정을 구하거나, 술로 인생을 달래려고 하지 않았습니다. 사람들을 원망하지도 않았습니다. 누구의 도움도 받을 수 없었지만, 예수님이라면 자신의 마음을 이해해 주시고, 병을 치료해 주실 것이라는 믿음이 있었습니다. 여기에서 우리는 귀중한 교훈을 얻습니다. ☎ 가장 소중한 것이 무엇인가?
건강, 돈, 명예, 가족, 이것들보다 더 귀한 것은 ‘살아계신 주님을 향한 믿음’입니다.
<믿음>은 하나님을 기쁘시게 합니다. 믿음을 통해서 아브라함은 하나님께 선택받았고, 축복의 통로가 되었습니다. 모세는 믿음을 통해서 이집트의 모든 재물보다 더 값진 것이 하나님과의 관계임을 깨달았습니다. 예수님은 믿음으로 십자가에서 죽으실 수 있었습니다.
※고독을 해결해주는 것은 술이 아닙니다. 게임이나 섹스나 마약이나 카지노가 아닙니다.
이런 것들은 우리를 일시적으로 도피하게 만드는 수단이지, 근본적인 해결책이 될 수 없습니다. 왜 그럴까요? 하나님께서 우리 인간을 인격적인 존재로 만드셨기 때문입니다. 이성적으로 이해되고, 감정적으로 기쁘며, 의지적으로 용납할 수 있어야 행복합니다.
◈ 고독했던 사람. 예수님을 향한 믿음 때문에 잃었던 건강뿐 아니라, 하나님의 자녀라는
새로운 정체성, 삶의 안정감, 그리고 하나님의 사랑을 받는다는 행복감마저 누리게 됩니다.
☞ 이런 행복을 우리도 누릴 수 있을까요?
주님께서 우리에게 질문으로 대답해 주십니다.

The Salvation of the Solitary。 |
( Mark 5: 24 ~ 34 )
If a person is ill and has to lose his friends, job and family because of it, he will feel desolate in addition to feeling sadness. He might lose a reason to live or any hope for his life. The person in today’s scripture reading experienced this. Not only she lost her health, she can’t even go near people because of her illness even though she desperately desires God’s grace and worship Him just like other people. There is no hope for spiritual comfort. She is socially isolated, and there is no one to comfort her. What should she do?
In spite of this, she does not give up her life. She does not ask for pity from people or tries to ease her pain with alcohol. She does not resent the people who deserted her. There is no hope of receiving help from people, but she believes that Jesus would understand her and heal her. We can discover something very important through her story. ☎ What is the most valuable thing in the world? We discover that there is something more valuable than money, health, fame, family, or past memory. It is having faith in the living God.
Faith is the only thing that can save us from our despair. Turning our focus from ourselves to our Lord is faith. Setting aside our judgement and relying on Christ is faith. Faith is a bridge connecting us from this world to the eternity. Faith pleases God. Through faith, Abraham was chosen by God and became the path of God’s blessing. Through faith, Moses didn’t value his wealth of Egypt but cherished the relationship with God above of all. Through faith in God, Jesus loved us, and it enabled Him to die on the cross to redeem us.
※Alcohol cannot cure our loneness. Game, Sex, drug or gambling is not the answer.
These are temporary and cannot solve our problems. Why not?
It is because God created us as human beings with characters. We can only find happiness when we are understood rationally, feel joyful emotions and are accepted intentionally.
◈ Today’s scripture reading describes a lonely woman who didn’t sin, but was living like a sinner because she lost both her freedom and happiness. It also shows us how her freedom was restored. Not only has she gained her health by the faith in Jesus, but also her identity as God’s child. She was gifted of te stability of life and happiness through God’s love.
☞ Can we also find the same happiness?
Jesus gives the answer to us by asking us certain questions.

유익한 고독(Beneficial Solitude)。 |
( 시편 41: 1 ~ 13 )
‘나는 누구인가? 나는 천사도 아니고 동물도 아닌 인간이다’. 인간이란 무엇인가? 인류 역사상 인간에 대한 연구만큼 오래되고 방대한 자료는 없을 것입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 여전히 일치하는 견해는 없으며, 죽는 순간까지 이 질문은 우리를 따라다닙니다. 사람만큼 기쁨도 주고 상처도 주는 존재가 또 있을까요? 파스칼은 “인간은 갈대, 그러나 생각하는 갈대”라고 했습니다. 에머슨은 “인간은 파멸한 신”이라고 정의했습니다. 라마아틴은 “본성은 제약을 받으며, 욕망은 무한하고, 인간은 하늘 나라를 기억하는 타락한 신”이라고 표현했습니다. 시인들과 예언가들과 과학자들과 철학자들이 인간에 대하여 언급했지만, 우리는 내가 누구인가를 바르게 안다고 말할 수 없습니다.
인간을 만드신 하나님께서 인간에 대하여 처음으로 언급하신 내용은 “사람이 독처하는 것이 좋지 못하니”(창2:18)라는 말씀이었습니다. 지구촌 인구는 80억으로 늘었지만 인간은 여전히 외롭고 고독합니다. 왜일까요? 궁극적으로 인간은 홀로 죽음에 직면해야 하고, 하나님 앞에서 혼자이기 때문입니다. 그러나 이것은 하나님의 의도가 아닙니다. 하나님은 사랑이시고, 우리와 더불어 교제하시며, 인간 또한 다른 사람들과 더불어 살도록 지으셨습니다. 인간은 하나님의 형상대로 지음받은 존귀한 존재입니다. 그러나 인간이 하나님에게서 돌아섰을 때부터 모든 것은 달라졌습니다. 하나님과의 관계 단절은 고독을 불러왔고, 아담과 하와 사이에도 불신과 책임 전가가 진행되었습니다.
하나님은 인간을 여전히 사랑하고 계십니다. 늘 생각하십니다. 죄에 빠져 죽어가는 인간을 구원하시려고 하십니다. 그래서 독생자 예수님을 우리에게 보내주셨고, 하나님은 우리와 늘 함께 하시는 임마누엘의 하나님이심을 알려주셨습니다. 이러한 하나님의 마음을 알았던 다윗은 이렇게 고백합니다. “주님께서 손수 만드신 저 큰 하늘과 주님께서 친히 달아 놓으신 저 달과 별들을 내가 봅니다. 사람이 무엇이기에 주님께서 이렇게까지 생각하여 주시며, 사람의 아들이 무엇이기에 주님께서 이렇게까지 돌보아 주십니까?”(시편8: 3~4)
▶ 이렇게 하나님을 경외하고 사랑했던 다윗은 고독에서 벗어났을까요? 본문에 보면, 왠일인지 그는 힘들어하고 있습니다. 마음은 고독합니다. 하나님을 경외하기 때문에 그는 탄식에 가까운 기도를 드리고 있는 것입니다. 하나님을 믿는 사람에게도 이러한 고독이 밀려 올 수 있음을 볼 수 있습니다.
☞ 그렇다면 하나님을 믿는 사람의 고독은 무엇이 다를까요? 하나님은 어떻게 도와주실까요?
1.내가 병상에 누워 있더라도 하나님의 ( )은 변함이 없다.
2. 인간관계의 아픔, 험담과 배신 속에서도 하나님은 나를 ( )한다.

부활하신 주님께서 주시는 선물 。
( 요한 20: 19 ~ 23 )
지금 예수님은 ‘불안과 두려움을 느끼고 있는 제자들’을 만나고 계십니다. 제자들은 유대인들이 무서워서 문을 모두 닫아 걸고 있었습니다. 주님께서 제자들에게 건네신 첫 말씀은 “너희에게 평화가 있기를!”하고 인사하셨습니다. 이 말씀을 하고 나서, 자신의 두 손과 옆구리를 보여 주셨습니다.
▷ 예수님의 이 말과 행동은 인류 역사상 가장 의미있는 언행이 되었습니다. 왜 그럴까요?
인류 역사를 돌아보면, 인간은 위대한 문명과 발전을 이루었음에도 불구하고, 도저히 해결할 수 없는 세 가지 불안을 느끼며 살아왔습니다. 첫번째 불안은 죽음에 대한 불안이었습니다. 예수님의 처형 장면을 멀리서 지켜봤던 제자들에게는 충격과 슬픔이었습니다. 병자들을 고치시고 죽은 자를 살리셨던 주님이 저렇게 무기력하게 죽다니, 도저히 받아들일 수 없는 현실이었습니다. 코비드, 감기, 호흡곤란, 심장마비 등 갑작스런 죽음은 내 차례를 경고합니다.
두번째 불안은 죄 때문입니다. 역사상 죄 문제를 근본적으로 해결한 사람은 아무도 없었습니다. 죄는 처벌을 낳았고, 결국 사망에 이르게 했습니다. 주님을 모른다며 거짓말로 둘러댔던 제자들에게는 그 어떤 상담도, 치료도 소용이 없었습니다. 무기력, 우울, 분노, 노이로제, 마약, 스트레스, 범죄 등 모든 문제의 뿌리에는 언제나 죄가 몰래 숨어 있습니다.
세번째 불안은 허무하다는 것입니다. 헤밍위이가 쓴 [노인과 바다]를 보면, 노인이 고기 한 마리를 잡기 위해 온갖 고생을 합니다. 배가 고파서 먹기 위해 잡은 것도 아닙니다. 잡았지만
상어에게 뜯기고, 앙상한 뼈만 남았습니다. 노인은 지쳐 쓰러집니다. 아무 것도 없습니다.
앨빈 토플러는 [미래의 충격 Future Shock, 1970]에서 인간의 부속품(심장, 눈, 위, 손과 발)을 파는 산업이 앞으로 발전할 것이라고 했습니다. 감정을 조절하는 알약 하나면 하루 종일 싱글벙글 웃게 될 것이라고 했습니다. 그런데 현대인은 위기 지수, 불안 지수가 높아졌습니다. 발광, 고독, 자살, 중독, 분노 지수가 치솟고 있습니다. 왜 이럴까요?
☎ 주님께서 그 원인과 처방을 말씀하십니다.

고난의 이유 。
( 시편 119: 66 ~ 72 )
욥은 고난을 만났을 때, 그를 가장 괴롭힌 것은 상실감이나 친구들이 아니라, 왜 나에게 이런 고난이 닥쳤는지 이해(납득)할 수 없었기 때문입니다. 그는 하나님께서 자신에게 이런 고난을 주셨다고 생각했지만, 사실은 사탄이 그를 시험한 것이었고, 하나님은 이를 허락하셨습니다.
욥은 오랜 시간이 흐르고 나서야 하나님의 의도를 깨달을 수 있었습니다.
예수님은 예루살렘에 올라가면 고소당할 것과 고통 겪을 것을 아셨지만, 올라가기로 굳게 결심하셨습니다(눅9:51). 주님은 이 고난의 의미를 이해하셨기 때문입니다. 출산을 앞둔 산모는 진통을 참고 견딜 수 있습니다. 한 생명을 잉태하기 위한 숭고한 고통임을 알기 때문입니다.
하나님의 관심은 언제나 인간입니다. 인간의 변화가능성입니다. 인간에게 희망이 있다면 변화가능성 때문입니다. 그러나 산을 옮기는 것보다 내가 나를 변화시키는 것이 더 어렵습니다. 인간은 작은 우주(Micro- Cosmos)이기 때문입니다. 인간 자체를 이해하는 것이 힘든 이유도 여기에 있습니다. 나를 이해할 수도 없는데, 다른 사람을 이해한다는 것은 더더욱 힘듭니다.
사랑한다고 변화됩니까? 사랑이 부족해서 자식이 그릇됩니까? 환경이나 교육이나 제도를 바꾸어도 인간이 달라지지 않습니다. 인간을 만드신 하나님, 인간을 가장 완전하게 이해하시고, 인간을 가장 사랑하시는 하나님입니다. 그런 하나님께서 인간을 구원하시기 위해 어떤 방법을 사용하실까요? 그 가운데 하나가 바로 <고난>입니다. 예수님의 고난도 필요합니다. 나에게도 고난이 필요합니다.
☞ 그렇다면 우리가 고난을 견디고 시험을 통과하면 과연 변화될 수 있을까요?
▷ 시편 기자는 하나님께서 왜 자신에게 고난을 허락하셨는지 이 이유를 깨달았습니다.
1. 내가 고난을 당하기 전까지는 ( ) 길을 걸었다.
2. 그 고난 때문에 내가 하나님의 ( )을 사랑하게 되었다.

The Reason for Suffering 。
( Psalm 119: 66 ~ 72 )
When Job encountered suffering, what tormented him most—more than his sense of loss or the words of his friends—was his inability to comprehend or make sense of why such tribulation had befallen him. He believed that God had inflicted this suffering upon him; in reality, however, it was Satan who was testing him—a trial that God had permitted. It was only after a long passage of time that Job was finally able to grasp God's true intentions.
Jesus knew that if He went up to Jerusalem, He would be accused and suffer; nevertheless, He firmly resolved to go (Luke 9:51). This was because the Lord understood the significance of this suffering. A mother awaiting childbirth can endure the labor pains; she does so because she knows it is a noble suffering undertaken to bring a new life into the world.
God’s focus is always on humanity—specifically, on the human capacity for change. If there is any hope for mankind, it lies in this very potential for transformation. However, changing oneself is far more difficult than moving mountains; this is because the human being is a microcosm—a universe unto itself. This is also precisely why it is so challenging to truly understand human nature. If one cannot even comprehend oneself, understanding another person becomes an even more formidable task.
Does simply saying "I love you" bring about change? Does a child go astray merely because of a lack of love? Even if we alter our environment, education, or social systems, human beings themselves do not change. It is God who created humanity—the One who understands us most perfectly and loves us most deeply. What means, then, would such a God employ to bring about our salvation? One of those means is precisely *suffering*. The suffering of Jesus was necessary; and for me, too, suffering is necessary.
☞ If so, can we truly be transformed if we endure hardships and pass through trials?
▷ The Psalmist came to realize the reason why God allowed him to experience suffering.
1. Before I suffered, I walked on the ( ) path.

액티브 시니어, 갈렙 。
( 수 14: 6 ~ 14 )
오늘날 65세 이상을 '노인'이라 부르지만, 스스로를 여전히 활기차다고 믿는 액티브 시니어
(Active Senior)들이 늘고 있습니다. 성경에는 이 용어에 딱 맞는 인물이 등장합니다. 바로 85세의 나이에 "이 산지를 내게 주소서"라고 외쳤던 갈렙입니다. 그는 단순한 장수를 넘어, 노년의 한계를 극복한 진정한 신앙의 용사였습니다.
"나이는 숫자에 불과하다" ☞ 90세의 보디빌더 짐 애링턴(Jim Arrington)
기네스북에 등재된 세계 최고령 보디빌더 짐 애링턴은 젊은 시절 매우 허약하고 천식을 앓았습니다. 하지만 그는 70년 넘게 꾸준한 운동과 식단 관리를 멈추지 않았습니다. 그는 말합니다. "나이가 들면 몸이 예전 같지 않다는 것을 인정해야 하지만, 그렇다고 멈춰야 한다는 뜻은 아니다." 그는 노년의 건강 문제를 '꾸준함'과 '긍정적인 마음가짐'으로 극복하며 지금도 무대에 서고 있습니다. 이처럼 현대의 의학적·신체적 한계를 이겨내는 힘은 결국 "할 수 있다"는 의지와 관리에 있습니다.
성경적 사례: 갈렙의 '강건함'의 비결
오늘 본문에서 갈렙은 85세임에도 불구하고 40세 때와 똑같이 강건하다고 고백합니다(11절).
☎ 그가 질병과 쇠약을 이기고 '액티브 시니어'로 살 수 있었던 비결은 무엇일까요?
첫째, 온전한 신뢰(8절).
둘째, 명확한 목표 의식(12절).
셋째, 약속을 붙드는 믿음(14절).
※ 노년은 뒤로 물러나 앉아 있는 시간이 아닙니다.
갈렙처럼 하나님의 약속을 붙들고 다시 신발 끈을 조여 매는 시간입니다.
질병이 찾아올 때 "이제 다 끝났다"고 말하지 마십시오.
오히려 "하나님이 함께하시면 이 산지도 정복할 수 있다"고 선포하십시오.
갈렙이 헤브론을 기업으로 얻었듯이, 활기차고 복된 '액티브 시니어'가 되라고 하나님께서는 말씀하십니다.

Active Senior Caleb 。
( Joshua 14: 6 ~ 14 )
Although those aged 65 and older are referred to as "elderly" today, the number of "Active Seniors"—people who still consider themselves vibrant—is on the rise. The Bible features a figure who perfectly fits this description: Caleb, who cried out, "Give me this mountain!" at the age of 85. Beyond mere longevity, he was a true warrior of faith who overcame the limitations of old age.
"Age is just a number" ☞ 90-year-old bodybuilder Jim Arrington
Jim Arrington, the world's oldest bodybuilder listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, was very frail and suffered from asthma in his youth. However, he has not stopped his consistent exercise and diet management for over 70 years. He says, "As you get older, you have to admit that your body isn't what it used to be, but that doesn't mean you have to stop." He has overcome the health challenges of old age through "consistency" and a "positive mindset," and he continues to stand on stage to this day. As such, the power to overcome modern medical and physical limitations ultimately lies in the will to believe "I can do it" and in self-management.
Biblical Case Study: The Secret to Caleb's 'Strength'
In today's passage, Caleb confesses that despite being 85 years old, he is just as strong as he was at age 40 (Verse 11).
☎ What is the secret to how he was able to overcome illness and weakness and live as an
'active senior'?
First, complete trust (v. 8).
Second, a clear sense of purpose (v. 12).
Third, a faith that holds fast to God's promises (v. 14).
※ Old age is not a time to retreat and sit idly by.
Rather, it is a time—much like for Caleb—to hold fast to God's promises
and tighten your shoelaces once again. When illness strikes, do not say,
"It is all over now." Instead, boldly declare:
"With God by my side, I can conquer even this mountain!"
Just as Caleb received Hebron as his inheritance,
God calls upon you to become a vibrant and blessed "active senior."

고독한 환자를 찾아가시는 주님 。
( 요 5: 1 ~ 9 )
(어느 독거 노인의 고백) “괜찮다. 살만큼 살았다. 그렇게 입버릇처럼 죽음을 말하지만 막상 이 세상을 떠나는 순간에도 혼자일 것을 생각하면, 그리고 떠난 이후에도 혼자일 것을 생각하면 지금 이 고독을 견딜 수가 없습니다. 밤에 춥고 발이 시려서 양말을 신고 자야 돼요. 어떻게 살아야 하나, 조금 더 살다가 갔으면 좋겠는데, 어떻게 할 수가 없네요. 선생님, 저는 돈이 없어서 어떻게 해야 할지 몰라요. 동네에서 사람들이 오가는 것이 부럽고, 가족이 없는 것이 서럽고, 나이가 먹고 병이 드니 너무 외로워요. 어떻게 했으면 좋겠습니까?”
한국에서, 2024년 연락할 수 있는 가족이 없는 무연고 사망자 수는6,139명이었습니다. 독거 노인은 심리적 불안감, 경제적 가난, 날로 악화되는 건강, 사회로부터 격리되었다는 무위감 등으로 삶의 의욕이 떨어집니다. 76세 이상 대한민국의 노인 빈곤율은 52%로 OECD 국가들 중 1위입니다. 한국의 노인 자살률도 연평균 4,600명. 하루 평균 12.6명. 더욱 심각한 것은 이런 가난과 고독감 속에서 인생을 마감하는 사람들의 숫자가 갈수록 증가하고 있다는 사실입니다.
☞ 그렇다면 외국에 나와 살고 있는 한인 노인들의 형편은 어떨까요?
65세 이상 된 분들께 언제 외로움을 느끼는지 물었더니, (1)친구가 죽었을 때 (2)장례식 참석했을 때 (3)의논 상대가 없을 때 (4)특별한 날 혼자 지낼 때 (5)자녀와의 긴 별거 순으로 응답했습니다. 이화여대 사회복지 대학원 논문에서는 고독감이 여성 노인, 학력이 낮은 노인, 배우자가 없는 노인, 친인척과 살거나 독신인 노인, 자녀의 효심에 불만인 노인, 건강하지 않은 노인, 용돈이 부족하다고 느끼는 노인들이 그렇지 않는 노인보다 고독감이 높게 나타났습니다.
☞ 예수님은 명절에 한 장기 환자를 찾아갑니다. 그의 병을 치료해 주시고, 삶을 회복시켜 주셨습니다. 삶에 지쳤고 무기력의 늪에 빠진 우리에게도 주님은 “낫고 싶으냐?”고 물으십니다.
첫째, 나를 도와줄 사람이 없다고 한탄할 때도, 하나님은 우리를 ( )다.
둘째, 주님께서는 내 고독을 아시고, ( )하시는 분이다.

요즘 여러분의 형편은 어떠십니까? 삶의 환경은 전에 비해 달라지셨습니까? 경제적인 형편은 어떻습니까? 주님과의 관계는 어떠십니까? 이런 질문은 제가 성도님들을 만날 때마다 묻곤 하는 질문입니다. 생활형편, 경제적 여유, 자녀문제와 진로, 건강, 이런 것들은 우리의 복지와 깊이 관련된 중요한 것들입니다. 하지만, 이런 것들 위에 행복을 쌓아올리려고 한다면, 우리는 중대한 과오를 범하는 것입니다.
♡진정으로 행복을 느끼며 사는 분들은 변하지 않는 분과의 따뜻한 관계에 기초하여 살아갑니다. “나는 어떤 처지에서도, 스스로 만족하는 법을 배웠습니다.”(빌4:11, 바울) 그는 자족하며 사는 비결을 배웠다고 말합니다. 타고난 천성, 낙천적인 기질 때문이 아니요, 가난에도 처했다가 풍부에도 처했다가 하면서 경험을 통해 항상 자족하는 방법을 터득했다는 것입니다. 배워서 달라질 수 있는 것이라면 우리도 배워야 하지 않겠습니까? 그가 배운 비결은 자신이 인생의 주인 자리에서 내려와 주님을 주인으로 모시며 살았더니 항상 행복하더라는 것입니다.
예수님은 우리를 세상 80억 인구 가운데서 선택하여 하나님의 자녀로 삼아주셨습니다. 주님을 영접한 순간부터 우리는 이 세상에 속한 사람이 아니요, 하나님의 자녀입니다. 천국 국민입니다. 다른 신분은 사망과 동시에 말소되지만, 이 신분은 영원토록 지속될 신분입니다.
☎ 주님은 우리가 이 세상을 어떻게 살아가야 하는지, 세 가지 중요한 생활원칙을 말씀합니다. 이것을 실천하면 주님께서 원하시는 멋진 시니어가 될 수 있다고 하십니다. 과연 뭘까요?
첫째, 너희가 거저 받았으니 ( 거저 ) 주어라.
둘째, 여행가방에 금덩이나, 두 벌 옷이나, 신발조차 ( 가지지 ) 말라.
셋째, 어떤 사람을 만나든지 그에게 ( 평안 )을 빌라.

실화) “남편은 상당히 성공한 의사로 배울만큼 배운 사람이었고, 부인은 인물이나 교양이 어디 가도 빠지지 않는 매력적인 사람이었다. 객관적인 조건으로 보면 불행할 이유가 조금도 없는, 아니 오히려 행복의 정상을 달려야 하는 사람들이었다. 그러나 그 부부 사이에는 많은 문제가 있었다. 결혼 초기에는 너무 많이 싸웠고, 시간이 지난 지금은 서로에 대해 무관심한 채 겉으로만 멀쩡한 부부처럼 연기하면서 살고 있었다. 그러다 보니 남편은 남편대로 살아가는 의미를 잃어버렸다. 간혹 치는 골프 정도가 유일한 즐거움이라고나 할까? 부인은 부인대로 절망적인 미움과 의심, 허영과 과시, 죄책감 등이 뒤범벅된 삶을 살고 있었다. 더욱 기가 막힌 것은 이 두 사람 다 매우 성실해 보이는 교인이라는 것이다. 그들은 안수집사 부부였기 때문이다.” 『하나님 형상 회복』, 유진소.
우리는 위대한 영적 지도자들이 어느 한 순간 무너지는 것을 볼 때가 있습니다. 섹스 스캔들 때문에 추락한 미국의 텔레비젼 부흥사 지미 스왜거트(Jimmy Swaggart), 짐 베이커(Jim Baker), 이 분들은 훌륭한 찬양들을 많이 작곡했고 하나님께로부터 놀랍게 쓰임받았습니다. 하지만 이들이 은혜롭게 설교하거나 집회를 인도한 날 밤이면 더욱 심하게 술과 포르노에 빠져들었다
는 사실을 이해하기란 결코 쉽지 않습니다. 평생을 성공적으로 목회했던 목사님이 말년에 소유와 집착 때문에 추한 이야기의 주인공이 된 경우, 교회에서 기도를 많이 한다는 권사님들 중에 문제를 일으키거나 계속해서 성도들과 부딪히는 경우도, 흔한 사례들 가운데 하나입니다.
☞ 왜 그럴까요? 문제의 원인과 해결책을, 하나님께서 말씀하십니다.
1. 해결되지 않은 ( )를 하나님께 고백하라. Confession of Wounds
2. 경건 훈련을 ( )으로 만들어라. Spiritual Habit.
3. 영적으로 변화되고 ( )하라. Better than yesterday

1 Timothy 4: 8 ~ 16
(True story) “The husband was a fairly successful doctor and well-educated, and his wife was a charming person with a personality and refinement that stood out no matter where she went. Objectively speaking, they had no reason to be unhappy; in fact, they should have been striving for happiness. However, the couple had many problems. They fought a lot in the early days of their marriage, and now, as time passed, they lived as a normal couple, indifferent to each other. As a result, the husband lost the meaning of living as a husband.
Perhaps the only pleasure he had was an occasional round of golf? His wife, too, lived a life rife with despair, suspicion, vanity, show-off, and guilt. What's even more astonishing is that both of them appeared to be very sincere church members. This is because they were a deacon couple." 『Restoring the Image of God』, by Eugene So.
We often see great spiritual leaders fall from grace at one point. American television evangelists like Jimmy Swaggart and Jim Baker, who fell from grace due to sex scandals, wrote many wonderful songs and were used by God in amazing ways. Yet, it's difficult to understand that on the nights they preached or led meetings with grace, they succumbed to alcohol and pornography.
Pastors who have successfully ministered their entire lives often end up becoming the subject of scandals due to possessions and obsessions in their later years. It's also common for deacons, known for their prayerful nature, to cause problems or constantly clash with church members.
☞ Why is this so? God reveals the cause and solution to these problems.
1. Confess your unresolved ( wounds ) to God.
2. Make devotional practice a ( habit ).
3. Be transformed and ( grow ) spiritually. Better than yesterday.

비대면시대, 원격 치유 Remoted Healing in the Untact Era |
마태(Matthew) 15 : 21 ~ 28
비대면(Untact) 시대입니다. 사람을 만나지 않고 비대면으로 일하고 공부하는 시대가 열린 것입니다. 우리의 일상, 기업 문화, 산업, 학교, 문화와 예술 공연, 국가와 세계 경제에 이르기까지 “언택트”는 모든 영역에서 거스를 수 없는 대세가 되었습니다.
먹고 싶은 음식은 온라인으로 주문합니다. 사고 싶은 물건도 온라인으로 주문해서 현관에서 받습니다. Untact Economy가 성큼 다가온 것입니다. 전통 제조업의 붕괴와 자영업의 쇠태, 고용 감소, 저성장과 불평등이 심화되고 있습니다.
소위 팡(FAANG. Facebook. Apple. Amazon. Netflix. Google)이라고 하는 IT 대기업들이
미국 주식 시장을 좌우하고 있습니다. 이제 모든 영역에서 디지털화가 가속화되고, 5G와 클라우드, 전기차와 자율주행, 인공지능과 반도체 산업에 이르기까지
비대면(언택트) 산업이 주류가 되었습니다.
종교계도 예외가 아닙니다. 얼굴과 얼굴을 마주보며, 표정과 목소리로 공감대를 형성했던 시대가 커튼을 내리고 있습니다. 구역 모임은 사라지고, 예배는 영상으로 드립니다. 상담도 컴퓨터 앞에서 이루어지고 있습니다. 회의도 화상으로 합니다. 교육도 온라인으로 이루어집니다. 새벽기도회도 셀폰을 통해 드립니다.
▷ 오늘 본문에는 사회로부터 철저히 고립되고 단절된 사람이 나옵니다. 사회로부터 추방된 것이지요. 마치 코로나에 감염된 환자처럼, 그는 어디로부터도 환영받지 못했고, 누구도 그를 반가워하지 않았습니다. 심지어 하나님의 성전조차 들어갈 수 없었습니다.
그러나 환자(딸) 대신 그녀의 어머니가 예수님 앞에 나와 고쳐달라고 요청합니다.
☞ 언택트(비대면) 사회, 우리가 어떤 믿음으로 살아야 하는지, 주님께서 말씀하십니다.
1. 주님을 향한 믿음은 어떤 장애물이라도 극복한다.
2. 참 사랑은 ‘자존심’을 버리게 만든다.
3. 시련을 견디는 믿음은 주님께서 소원을 들어주신다.

Remoted Healing in the Untact Era |
Matthew 15: 21 ~ 28
We've entered the era of the "Untact" era. It's the dawn of a new era of working and studying remotely, without face-to-face interaction. From our daily lives, corporate culture, industry, schools, cultural and artistic performances, to the national and global economy, "Untact" has become an irreversible trend across all sectors.
We order the food we crave online. We order the goods we want online and have them delivered to our doorstep. The "Untact" economy is fast approaching. Traditional manufacturing is collapsing, self-employment is declining, employment is declining, low growth is deepening, and inequality is deepening.
The so-called FAANG (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Google) IT giants
are dominating the US stock market. Now, digitalization is accelerating across all sectors, from 5G and the cloud, to electric vehicles and autonomous driving, to artificial intelligence and the semiconductor industry, non-face-to-face(Untact)
industries have become mainstream.
The religious community is no exception. The era of face-to-face encounters, of building rapport through expressions and voices, is drawing to a close. District meetings have disappeared, and worship services are held via video. Counseling is now conducted on computers. Meetings are held via video conference. Education is conducted online. Even dawn prayer services are held via cell phone.
▷ Today's text describes a person who is completely isolated and cut off from society. He is an outcast. Like a COVID-19 patient, he is unwelcome and unwelcome. He is not even allowed to enter the temple of God.
However, on behalf of the patient (daughter), her mother comes before Jesus and asks for healing.
☞ In this contactless society, the Lord tells us what kind of faith we should have.
2. True love allows us to let go of pride.
3. Faith that endures trials allows the Lord to grant our wishes.

거듭난 사람의 생활 |
사도행전 2: 43 ~ 47
이런 찬양이 있습니다. ♬ “만일 나의 생에 주님이 없었다면 지금 내 모습이 이대로 남아있을까? 끝없이 솟아나는 슬픔과 뜻모를 외로움으로 내 영혼 어둠속을 헤매고 있진 않을까? 나는 아무 공로없으나 주님은 나를 부르시어 세상에서 가장 귀한 선물을 주시고 감당할 수 없는 무게로 내 영혼 짓누르던 짐을 비둘기 날개짓처럼 가볍게 하셨네.
(후렴) 나의 나 된 것은 오로지 주의 은혜라. 나의 공로로 되어진 것이 전혀 없도다. 그는
내 영혼의 주인. 나의 생명 나의 영혼 나의 모든 것 주님 위하여.”(제목: 나의 나 된 것은)
베드로를 통해 하나님의 음성을 들은 사람들은 ‘내가 예수 그리스도를 죽게 한 죄인’이라는 영혼의 자각이 생겨났습니다. “우리가 어찌할꼬?” 양심과 영혼이 괴로워하는 사람들에게 하나님은 <이 패역한 세대에서 구원을 받으라>고 말씀하셨습니다. 베드로를 통해 하나님의 메시지를 들은 사람들은 세례를 받고 예수 그리스도의 제자가 됩니다. 이들은 오직 예수 그리스도만이 나의 죄를 사해주실 수 있는 하나님의 아들이요, 구주이심을 믿고 예수 그리스도를 마음에 영접합니다.
☞ 이 사람들은 거듭났습니다. 하나님은 인간이 자기의 행위로, 율법을 준수함으로써 의롭다 하심을 얻을 육체가 없다는 사실을 알려주셨고, 오직 주 예수를 믿음으로 거듭난다는 사실을 가르쳐주셨습니다. 인간의 노력이나 깨달음에 의한 것이 아니라, 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 된 것입니다.
☎ 이렇게 예수님의 공로로 구원받고 하나님의 자녀가 된 사람들은 어떻게 살아야 할까요?
오늘 본문이 잘 보여줍니다. 하나님께서 초대교회 예루살렘 성도들의 삶을 우리에게 보여주시는 이유는 ‘지금 나의 삶이 어떤지 돌아보라’는 뜻입니다. 이민생활에서 먹고 살기 바쁘다는 이유로 물질의 노예가 되어 살고 있지는 않은지, 서로 마음이 갈라져서 앞에서는 칭찬하고 뒤에서는 험담하지는 않는지, 한인사회에서 믿지 않는 사람들로부터 칭찬을 듣고 사는지를 돌아보라는 의미입니다.
1. ( )을 초월한 사람. 재산과 소유를 팔아 사람들에게 나눠주었다.
2. 만나면 ( )한 사람. 사람들이 진실했고 모임이 즐거웠다.
3. 예수님을 ( )한 사람. 하나님 찬양, 사람들의 칭찬, 구원받는 사람 늘었다.

The people who have been born again |
Today’s scripture/ Acts 2: 43 ~ 47
There is this hymn.
♬ “if there weren’t Jesus in my life, would I still be the way I am? Wouldn’t my spirit be lost in the darkness from endless misery and loneliness? I have no achievement but my Lord called me and gave me the most precious gift in the world and changed the unbearable weight of the load on my back to lightness as a bird’s wing.
How I became myself is only with God’s grace. There is none by my own achievements. How I became myself is only with God’s grace. He is my spirit’s owner. My life, my spirit, everything I have is for the Lord, the Lord.” (How I became myself)
People who have heard God’s voice by Peter had a spiritual recognization that “I am the sinner who killed Jesus Christ’. “What are we going to do?” To people who have been suffering spiritually, God said to<get saved from this failed world.>
☞ These people are born again. Jesus showed God’s love by dying for us when we were sinners. He showed God’s will to save us. God told us that no human can be sinless with his or her acts, and that we only are born again by believing in Jesus Christ. Though since everyone had committed sin, we did not reach to God’s glory, but to those who believe that Jesus Christ had died for us, God gives blessing to them. Not by humans’ work or realization, but through God’s blessings, we have become righteous.
☎ How do people live who have become righteous like this?
Today’s scripture shows us the lives of those who have born again. The reason why God shows us lives of early Jerusalem churches’ saints, and people who are born again is to say to look back at our life to see how we are doing. If we are money’s slaves just with the reason that living in a foreign country is hard, or if our hearts are split up in front we are talking good but in the back if we are talking bad, or if we re hearing comments from people of Spokane who are not Christians. If we believe that Jesus died for us, and if He is our spirit and life’s owner, we should live for Jesus and die for Jesus. God asks us if we are people who have been reborn. He asks us how we’re living in Tacoma.
1. The Person who have overpowered ( possessions ). So He/she sold
their property and goods and gave it out for each person’s need.
2. The Person who you feel ( happy ) to see.
So the meetings were fun and truthful with them.
3. The Person who ( loves ) Jesus. Therefore, praises for God,
compliments for others, and people who were saved increased.

The God who does new things
이사야(Isaiah) 43: 18 – 21
아일랜드(Republic of Ireland)의 25세 된 청년이 결혼식을 하루 앞두고 있었습니다. 그런데 약혼녀가 익사하는 슬픔을 당했습니다. 그는 슬픔을 극복하지 못하고 절망의 늪에 빠졌습니다. 이 청년은 친구들과 주위 사람들의 권유에 따라 캐나다의 호프 항구로 이주했습니다. 그곳에서 안주하기도 전에 고향에 계신 어머니가 중병으로 죽음을 기다리고 있다는 소식을 듣습니다. 그는 크게 낙심했습니다.
정말 죽고 싶은 심정이었습니다. 제대로 되는 일이 없다고 생각했습니다. 세상의 모든 불행이 자신에게 토네이도처럼 몰려온다고 느꼈습니다. 그는 이런 슬픔 속에서 어머니를 위해 무릎을 꿇고 기도하기 시작했습니다.
☞ 그런데 놀라운 일이 일어났습니다. 낙심했던 자신의 마음에 하나님께서 주시는 위로와 평화가 가슴깊이 스며들었고, 심령이 회복되었습니다. 심령이 회복되자 영감이 떠올랐습니다. 그것을 글로 적어서 어머니께 보냅니다. 그리고 얼마 후 이 편지는 우리가 사용하는 찬송가에 실렸습니다.
『시험 걱정 모든 괴롬, 없는 사람 누군가? 부질없이 낙심 말고 기도 드려 아뢰세. 』(찬369)
☎ 우리가 경험하는 낙심이나 절망은 그 상황 자체보다도, 이런 어려움을 극복할 수 없을 것 같다는 두려움에서 시작됩니다. 그럴 때 우리는 삶을 포기하고 싶은 유혹을 받습니다. 하나님을 믿는 우리도 그럴 수 있을까요? 우리뿐 아니라, 훌륭한 믿음의 선배들도 그랬습니다. “형제자매 여러분, 우리가 아시아에서 당한 환난을 여러분이 알기를 바랍니다. 우리는 힘에 겹게 너무 짓눌려서, 마침내 살 희망마저 잃을 지경에 이르렀습니다. 우리는 이미 죽음을 선고받은 몸이라고 느꼈습니다. 그렇게 된 것은, 우리 자신을 의지하지 않고 죽은 사람을 살리시는 하나님을 의지하게 하기 위함이었습니다.”(바울. 고린도후서 1장 8-9절)
♣ 절망적인 상황이더라도, 우리가 희망을 선택해야 하는 이유가 무엇일까요?
첫째, 우리 죄를 용서하고, ( 기억 )조차 하지 않으시는 하나님.
둘째, 광야에 길을 내고, 사막에 ( 강 )을 만드시는 하나님.
셋째, 우리가 ( 찬양 )을 부르도록 하시는 하나님.

The God who does new thing 。
Isaiah 43: 18 – 21
A 25-year-old man from the Republic of Ireland was about to get married when his fiancée tragically drowned the day before the wedding. Overwhelmed by grief, he fell into despair. Following the advice of friends and family, he moved to Hope Harbor in Canada. However, before he could even settle in, he received news that his mother back home was seriously ill and nearing death. He was devastated.
He felt like he wanted to die. He thought nothing was going right. He felt like all the misfortunes in the world were swirling around him like a tornado. In the midst of this sorrow, he knelt down and began to pray for his mother.
☞ But then something amazing happened. The comfort and peace that God gave him permeated his disheartened heart, and his spirit was restored. With his spirit restored, inspiration struck him. He wrote it down and sent it to his mother. And a short time later, this letter was included in the hymnbook we use today. "Who is there without trials, worries, and all kinds of troubles? Do not despair needlessly, but pray and tell God everything." (Hymn 369)
☎ The discouragement and despair we experience often stem not from the situation itself, but from the fear that we won't be able to overcome these difficulties. At such times, we are tempted to give up on life. Can even those of us who believe in God experience this? Not only us, but even great figures of faith before us have experienced this.
“Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the troubles we experienced in Asia. We were under such extreme pressure that we despaired even of life. Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But this happened so that we would not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.”(Paul, 2 Corinthians 1: 8-9)
♣ Even in desperate situations, why should we choose hope?
First, God forgives our sins and doesn't even ( remember ) them.
2nd, God makes a way in the wilderness and creates ( rivers ) in the desert.
Third, God enables us to sing ( praises ).
